EXCLUSIVE: Disney has set Peter Segal to direct Goblins. Segal and his Callahan Filmworks partner Michael Ewing will produce a project based on Goblins! A Survival Guide And Fiasco In Four Parts, a book written by Ari Berk and illustrated by Brian Froud. Berk is the author of 13 children’s books; the most recent, The Undertaken Trilogy, was released this year.

gobTom Astle & Matt Ember have been set to script the adaptation, with Berk and Froud executive producing. This reunites Segal, Ewing, Astle and Ember with Alan Horn; they all teamed at Warner Bros on the 2008 comedy Get Smart, which grossed over $230 million worldwide.

The scribes are repped by Verve, and Ewing and Segal by WME. Segal’s lawyered by Gang Tyre.
