OutEast Entertainment has tapped NBC News vet Courtney Hazlett to head up its development efforts as it expands its push into primetime. As SVP Development, Hazlett will be working out of both OutEast’s Los Angeles and New York offices.

Hazlett spent the past seven years at NBC News, where she served in roles ranging from editorial manager to columnist. She also provided on-air pop culture commentary for Today, MSNBC and Access Hollywood and most recently managed NBCNews.com and Today.com’s entertainment teams in New York and Los Angeles.

“Courtney brings a unique creative aesthetic and a development sensibility that is informed by her years of covering pop culture, politics and news,” said Steven Marrs, OutEast’s President & Managing Partner. “She has been quietly instrumental in the development of our two newest shows, Fish Tales with Bart Van Olphen and Ashley Madison.”
