Lorne Michaels’ writers’ room handed veteran Saturday Night Live host Cameron Diaz a mixed bag of gags for last night’s gig, her fourth in the slot.

After a pointless opening monologue — featuring stupid questions from cast members planted in the audience — she scored a semi-solid B- with the inevitable riff on her upcoming Annie remake with the Daddy Warbucks of Jamie Foxx, here including a pretty funny, carrot-topped Leslie Jones as a not-so-Little Orphan Annie. Quvenzhane Wallis she is not.

The clip is stirring more than little angst among commenters on SNL’s site on YouTube, some of whom are saying it’s racist. Wrote ‘Shadownumber206’: “Wow, this season of SNL has the most black people it’s ever had, yet it has managed to be the most racist season ever.”

I think what they are getting at is Annie actually was a white ginger. It's a fact....

It wasn't racist. Just boring. Like most of what SNL does these days. Yeah it's technically comedy,...
