grahamking???????????????????????????????????????????????????????EXCLUSIVE: Graham King’s GK Films has partnered with StudioCanal and Arthur Sarkissian Prods. to produce the remake of the classic French film Le Cercle Rouge (The Red Circle). The cat-and-mouse thriller that follows two escaped criminals from the West who plan an eleborate heist while trying to avoid a local crime boss and a relentless police investigator will be set this time around in Hong Kong.

Red Circle is being written by Steven Knight, whose The Hundred-Foot Journey just crossed $50M Stateside for Disney and whose 2007 crime thriller Eastern Promises earned its star Viggo Mortensen a Best Actor Oscar nomination.Image (3) StudioCanal-logo__131206053309.png for post 647637 King will produce under his GK Films banner alongside Sarkissian. Ron Halpern will oversee the production for StudioCanal.

King, of course, won a Best Picture Oscar as a producer on Martin Scorsese’s 2006 crime drama, The Departed. Sarkissian, who also has offices in Hong Kong, is known for the successful box office franchise Rush Hour and just recently announced a collaboration with Tony Kaye (American History X) based on the life and tragic death of Hollywood starlet Peg Entwistle who jumped off the Hollywood sign.

StudioCanal helped finance the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and the Liam Neeson actioner Non-Stop, to name a few. They also invested in the comedy Man Up in the UK which stars Simon Pegg.
