Turns out ignorance has proved no excuse for Teresa Giudice once again in her conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud case. The same judge who sentenced The Real Housewives Of New Jersey cast member to 15-months behind bars on October 2 has now refused Giudice’s attempt to serve some of her time in a halfway house. In fact Judge Esther Salas reveled on Wednesday that she’s sending Giudice to the minimum-security camp that served as the basis for the prison in Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black.
Giudice will be transported to the prison in Danbury, Connecticut to serve her time with just over 200 other inmates once she 
surrenders to authorities as scheduled on January 5 next year. The Danbury prison is less than 100 miles from the Giudices’ home.
The U.S. Attorney’s office that prosecuted the Giudices’ case was vehement in an October 21 letter to the court that Teresa should not be allowed to escape serving her time behind bars. “It was clearly not the court’s intention at the sentencing in this matter to sentence defendant to serve all or virtually all of her sentence in a halfway house,” said assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan Romankow and Rachael Honig. “The court made detailed, express findings on the record about the need to sentence defendant to jail.”

With that protest from prosecutors noted, Salas said Wednesday that she would not recommend that Giudice get to serve 12 month of her sentence in such a halfway house facility. The federal judge said that the Reality TV star should have made the request at her sentencing hearing earlier this month not earlier this week. Giudice’s new lawyer Stacy Ann Biancammo says the RHONJ star’s old attorney Harry Klingman did not inform her of that and in fact recommended that she not ask for a specific facility to be detained in for her prison time. Even with the Judge’s decision this week, the Bureau of Prisons could still make the call on where Giudice will be. “The Bureau of Prisons will handle their affairs as they see fit,” curtly noted Salas on Wednesday.
Ignorance was Giudice’s excuse on both the multimillion charges she and her husband Joe Giudice were indicted on in July last year. 
The RHONJ star also told Bravo’s Andy Cohen in a post-sentencing interview that she didn’t realize pleading guilty back in March to the charges meant she would actually go to prison. “I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me, she said on the unsurprising TV special just days after the sentencing. “That’s what lawyers do. That’s pretty much why you hire an attorney.” Her husband Joe, who go 41 months in jail himself added, “I expected me — I didn’t expect her.” As is pretty common in cases like this, the couple will serve consecutive sentences so one parent can take care of the Giudice’s four young daughters. Teresa will go to behind bars first with Joe to follow when she gets out – when of course undoubtedly there will be another Bravo special with her.

Ok, Here’s the thing, Oscar Pistorius will serve less time for taking someone’s life than Teresa will for signing papers she obviously did not read or understand. Perspective is key here. WHY does it matter where she serves her time?
Problem with that comparison is Mr. Pistorius wasn’t convicted in the United States. The way the law stood in South Africa, Oscar pleaded not guilty and it was difficult to prove that he didn’t act in self defense. Which was why he was convicted but not severely sentenced. Whereas the stupid ass Guidice family committed a federal crime. Since they file taxes jointly, all info on those documents implicates both of them. Now what should’ve happened was Joe should’ve came out and said, it was all him and Teresa didn’t keep track of these things. Maybe even have Teresa plead not guilty and have Joe plead guilty. But seriously, if your indicted and you plead guilty, then your at the courts mercy at whatever the sentencing is……. Not sure how your lawyer left out that part. But who said Teresa was the sharpest tool in the shed?!

He’s not a hands’ on dad and she’s a terrible mother. They both set an atrocious example for their girls. They are liars and cheats who stole money via fraud that the rest of us will have to pay for. She has lived her life saying ‘oh I just didn’t understand’ to get out of uncomfortable situations. This may work with her family and friends but stupidity is not a legal dense in the U.S.
It’s unfortunate that defrauding the banks and mortgage companies to pretend they had money was more important to them than their children. Hopefully the girls will get therapy and start to unwind some of the disdain for authority that they’ve learned.

But, at least the Judge was nice enough to let them do their time seperately, if it were you or me, us & husbands would be doing time at the same time. So please spare me with the “POOR TERESA!” There was this Lady on the show called “BONANZA” who put it so eloquently when she said: “THERE’S A LAW FOR YOU’INS & A LAW FOR WE’INS!” TRUER WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN!

Are you serious?! Really? This broad knows what’s up, gimme a break, she has business smarts, she knows how to brand herself. When it comes to money, Teresa can make it and spend it very well. Some things are questionable, because if you had an alcoholic hubby, would you be selling and promoting a line of booze? Finally the Judicial system gets this one right! However, I think they were light with sentences for both the verdicts. Theresa has been flaunting her fake wealth for 5 years on the Real Housewives of NJ. Her over lavish parties, trips, spending and ridiculous behavior toward her so called love ones. Her brother Joe is a GEM! I would give anything to have such a dedicated, loving and forgiving brother. She personally doesn’t deserve the beautiful friendships she had . She lost out on some of the most kind, loyal and generous friends. Her jealous and spiteful behavior finally made people wake up and see the dragon for what she really is. I have seen over and over the lies and problems she created. The dedication she put into trying to break relationships rather than help build them up is pure evil. Well finally, the green eyed jealous monster will be put behind bars, where she belongs. Maybe this incarceration in prison experience will sink in her tiny little brain that you need to treat people with respect, kindness and loyalty. Be honest and pay your bills loser. I feel NO empathy for these liars. I do feel sad for the kids and especially little GIA. She could teach her mom a few things……

I have no sympathy for Teresa?…she knew and got caught. she is lucky it is only 15 mos. and to say she didnt understand is pure bs.
