A cumed crowd of 3.2 million turned out last night to see Teresa and Joe Giudice give their first interview since a federal judge sentenced the couple to time in the hoosegow on conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges.
The 9 PM premiere of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live: One-On-One With Teresa And Joe clocked the biggest crowd. Nearly 1.7 million viewers watched the Real Housewives Of New Jersey star explain to host Andy Cohen that when she pleaded guilty to the charges in a plea deal, she did not understand she could get jail time. About 841,000 of those watching fell in the 18-49 demo.
At 9:30 PM, 803,000 heard Teresa deny that she and her husband had engaged in financial rannygazoo in a bid to keep up with the Joneses, telling Cohen she’s so frugal that she “would buy a used home.” About 365,000 of that crowd fell in the demo. The rest of the 3.2 mil tuned in at 11 PM — the late-night talk show franchise’s usual time slot, to hear Joe say he’s more scared for his wife going to the slammer because, “If you stick me with a knife, I probably wouldn’t feel it.”
