While many are still digesting this morning’s news that Jeff Berg will be folding his upstart talent agency Resolution, one Resolution agent already has set his next move. Motion picture and TV lit agent Robert Lazar, who had been at Resolution since February 2013, is transitioning to management and joining Larry Shuman’s The Shuman Co. He starts tomorrow morning. A number of Lazar’s clients are expected to follow him, including directors Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Under The Dome pilot), Shane Acker (9) and Benson Lee (Battle Of The Year); writers Carl Ellsworth (Red Eye, Disturbia), Karen Walton (Orphan Black), Michal Zebede (The Humbling) and Daniel Therriault (The Duke Lacrosse Case); as well as TV host Tanner Foust (Top Gear). Lazar already shares several of his clients with Shuman Co., including Ellsworth, Zebede and Therriault.
Launched in 1991 by veteran manager Larry Shuman, The Shuman Co. is a boutique lit management company whose roster also includes showrunners Shawn Ryan, creator of The Shield; David Shore, creator of House; and Tim Minear.
While Lazar’s next career move is set, the future is still uncertain for a number of Resolution agents and staffers who will be looking for jobs in the next few months.
