EXCLUSIVE: Sam Mendes’ Neal Street Productions has brought Julie Pastor back into the fold as its Head of Development. Pastor was previously VP of Development at Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and prior to that was Director of Development at Neal Street, working closely with Mendes on his 2012 Bond film Skyfall and on 2009’s Away We Go. She will now be responsible for Neal Street’s film and television development, helping handle the existing slate and seeking out new material.
Neal Street, whose feature credits include Jarhead and Revolutionary Road, has a current TV slate that includes BBC One hit drama Call The Midwife and John Logan’s Showtime/Sky series Penny Dreadful. The company is also currently producing The Hollow Crown: War Of The Roses for BBC Two/WNET and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Judi Dench. It’s the second in a series of Shakespeare adaptations that will include Richard III and Henry VI. Neal Street is led by Mendes, Pippa Harris, Caro Newling and Nicolas Brown.
Pastor said today, “I’m incredibly excited to be working again with the Neal Street team, a group of extraordinarily talented people I admire and already know well. Neal Street consistently finds ways to bring intelligent cinematic storytelling to the screen, and it’s a privilege to be part of this continued endeavor.”
Brown added, “We are thrilled to welcome Julie back to Neal Street. Her experience, passion and great taste will be invaluable as we embark on the next stage of the company’s growth”
