TNT has inked a deal with NBCUniversal TV and New Media Distribution for exclusive off-net cable rights to Grimm. The network plans to begin airing episodes from the first three seasons in early 2015, with Season 4 episodes available in fall 2015. The pact comes ahead of the series’ Season 4 premiere on October 24.
“Grimm puts a fresh spin on the traditional crime procedural with an otherworldly premise and compelling storytelling that appeal to young adults,” said Deborah K. Bradley, senior vice president, head of program acquisitions, content strategy and licensing for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. “Grimm will be a great addition to TNT’s lineup as the network continues to expand its reach with high-quality genre programming.”
“We are thrilled that TNT will bring Grimm’s clever writing and creative storytelling to its audience,” said Bruce Casino, executive vice president, NBCUniversal TV & New Media Distribution, “continuing our strong content relationship with Turner Entertainment Networks.”
Inspired by the classic Grimm Brother’s Fairy Tales, Grimm centers on Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovers he’s descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as Grimms. He soon finds his responsibilities as a detective increasingly at odds with his new responsibilities as a Grimm. Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee, and Claire Coffee also star.
Grimm is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production. The series was created by Stephen Carpenter and David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner (Hot In Cleveland) and Norberto Barba (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) also serve as executive producers, along with Greenwalt and Kouf.
