Claudia Teran already manages a lot of sports operations as Fox Network Group’s EVP and Deputy General Counsel. But her responsibilities will grow as she picks up an additional title — General Counsel, Fox Sports — the company says today. The change will put her in charge of domestic as well as overseas sports rights acquisitions, a key job at a company that’s placing big bets on the business at channels including its new Fox Sports 1. Teran will continue to manage rights deals at Fox’s international sports businesses in Latin America, Europe and Asia. She played a key role in landing World Cup soccer rights in 2018 and 2022.
“In a new and expanding multi-platform world she and her tremendous team will play an even more vital role as we expand our ability to bring the most exciting live sports coverage to every corner of the globe,” says FNG EVP and General Counsel Rita Tuzon. “I am delighted that she has agreed to take on these additional responsibilities while continuing oversight of our linear and digital legal teams.”
