Britcom Doll & Em has been picked up for a second season by the UK’s Sky Living. Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells star in the series they co-created. The real-life pals set the original season in LA, but the new installments will travel to New York City as the girls prepare to take on Broadway. As with the first series which included appearances by Andy Garcia, Susan Sarandon, John Cusack and Chloë Sevigny, a number of high-profile Hollywood actors will make surprise cameos. HBO acquired the first season last year and aired it March. International distribution for Doll & Em series 2 will be handled by Sky Vision.

top of the lakeThe UK’s See-Saw Films has added Hakan Kousetta as COO to boost the commercial and operational side of the company’s burgeoning TV business. Kousetta is an entertainment lawyer whose firm, Aslan Charles Kousetta, works across the industry in the UK, the U.S. and Europe. Patrick Walters has also joined the company as development executive. He is boarding from Ruby Film & Television. See-Saw is increasing its reach in television after the success it had with miniseries Top Of The Lake. Jane Campion and Gerard Lee are currently developing a second season for BBC Two. The company is also in post-production on Banished, Jimmy McGovern’s period Australia-set series about the establishment of the penal colony. It’s a co-production with RSJ Films for BBC Drama. It also has Steve McQueen’s Codes Of Conduct co-written by McQueen with Matthew Michael Carnahan in pre-production and is developing projects in collaboration with Nick Hornby, Matt Greenhalgh (Nowhere Boy), and Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The IT Crowd).

le passagerFrance Télévisions Distribution has announced a handful of new deals for The Passenger. The EuropaCorp-produced drama is adapted from the novel by bestselling author Jean-Christophe Grangé. The six-part series is a psychological thriller that stars Jean-Hughes Anglade and Raphaëlle Agogué. New pacts were sealed in Russia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Broadcast is set for later this year on France2. The pilot will be shown at the Direct To Series event in Los Angeles at the end of the month.
