As their 2014 ABC supernatural drama pilot Clementine is eying a series pickup by ABC for summer  this week, feature writer Dean Georgaris (Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life ) and film and TV producer Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Ray Donovan) are teaming for another drama project, which has sold to ABC through ABC Studios, where Gordon’s Mark Gordon Co. is under an overall deal.georgatis

Created by Georgaris, the drama, titled Las Reinas, follows the lives of the men and women in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Miami Police department. It centers on the mercurial heart and soul of the squad, Alex De La Reina, a woman who turned her back on her natal family when she discovered they run Florida’s most powerful and dangerous criminal syndicate. Gordon and Nick Pepper executive produce for The Mark Gordon Co. alongside Georgaris.

Gordon, Pepper and Georgaris also executive produce Clementine, which stars Sarah Snook as a profoundly troubled 28 year-old psychic who sees her life to begin to change in unexpected ways when she decides to stop running from her past. The options of Snook and the rest of the pilot cast (with the exception of David Strathairn) were extended again on Tuesday as the project remains in contention for a summer run.

Las Reinas marks the second sale this season for The Mark Gordon Co. The company recently set up an untitled Quantico drama from Gossip Girl and Smash alum Josh Safran at ABC.

Georgias, repped by WME and Media Talent Group, most recently served as executive producer on Life of Pi.
