EXCLUSIVE: Bento Box Entertainment, the Burbank animation studio behind Fox’s Emmy-winning animated series Bob’s Burgers, is partnering with Toronto-based Corus Entertainment to create a primetime slate of animated shows for Corus’ Canadian channel Teletoon. The slate of shows is targeted to debut in 2016. It will also be available in the United States and international markets for both traditional and digital distribution.

Bobs-BurgersProduction will be done in Canada, with Bento Box collaborating with Corus-owned studio Nelvana to develop shows for Teletoon At Night, an animation primetime programming bloc. Bento Box already uses the Corus-owned Toon Boom animation-software technologies, which should ease collaboration.

“We are thrilled to be working with Bento Box to create a slate of original content that will appeal to the coveted and rapidly growing 18-34 demographic,” said Corus’ Colin Bohm, VP of television and Head of Corus Kids. “This partnership will bring quality comedy series developed by top-tier creative talent to our primetime schedule on Teletoon.”

Bento Box has also produced Brickleberry, The Awesomes, Allen Gregory and Out There. Teletoon at Night’s current slate includes Archer, Family Guy, American Dad! and Bento Box’s The Awesomes.
