The first family of Springfield is heading to China. In a multi-year deal with Twentieth Century Fox TV Distribution, Sohu Video is now the first official Chinese-based home of The Simpsons. The pact includes the Chinese premiere of Season 26, which begins in the U.S. on September 28. The longest-running series in TV history, The Simpsons has been licensed to over 180 countries, reaching over 190 million weekly viewers, but this is the first time it will be available throughout China, subtitled in Mandarin. Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons said, “Woo hoo! Now we can reveal Springfield is actually in Guangdong province.”
