Dexter alumna Lauren Gussis has signed a two-year overall deal with CBS TV Studios to develop projects for broadcast and cable. This marks the first overall pact for Gussis, who most recently co-created and co-wrote with Ryan Murphy the racy HBO drama pilot Open, a modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships.

Gussis, repped by CAA, Circle of Confusion and Patti Felker, spent eight years on Showtime’s serial killer drama Dexter, which she joined the first season, eventually rising to co-executive producer. On the broadcast side, she did a stint on ABC’s Once Upon A Time.
