EXCLUSIVE: Magnolia is closing a low-seven-figure deal on Kill Me Three Times, the Kriv Stenders-directed genre film that premiered at Toronto in the Contemporary World Cinema section. The James McFarland-scripted film has a strong cast. It stars Alice Braga, Luke Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer, Simon Pegg, and Sullivan Stapleton. Magnolia’s plan is for a big theatrical push for a pic that’s a raucous and violent ride in the spirit of films like Seven Psychopaths.

The tale takes place in the Australian surfing town of Eagle’s Nest and centers on a woman who has an affair after her marriage deteriorates. Her husband hires a contract killer — and that leads to a series of murders. Laurence Malkin, Share Stallings and Tania Chambers are the producers. The deal was brokered by WME Global.
