EXCLUSIVE: Shooting is underway in Sofia, Bulgaria on Crackle’s second full-length feature The Throwaways, executive produced by Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Town), Timothy Linh Bui and Don Handfield (Touchback). James Caan (Las Vegas, The Godfather), Kevin Dillon (Entourage, Platoon) and Sam Huntington (Being Human, Superman Returns) star in the 90-minute international cyber thriller set to premiere on multi-platform digital entertainment network Crackle in December.

The film, announced at Crackle’s NewFronts in April, follows notorious hacker Drew Reynolds (Huntington), who is captured by the CIA and given a proposition — work for them or spend the rest of his life in prison. Reynolds agrees to join on the condition that he gets to choose his own team.

He ends up going with a group of “throwaways,” those deemed expendable and seemingly the worst in the organization. Led by Lt. Col. Christopher Holden (Caan) and including gung-ho combat specialist Dan Fisher (Dillon), the team must track and take down a cyber-terrorist who is threatening mass destruction.

Michael Ross (Turistas) penned the script and Sundance Jury and Audience Award winner Tony Bui directs.
