TrustNordisk has sold the rights to Kristian Levring’s The Salvation to Universal Pictures International Entertainment in a number of international territories, including Latin America, Eastern Europe and South Africa. The pic, which screened out of competition at Cannes, follows a Danish settler (Mads Mikkelsen) in 19th century North America who sets out to avenge his family. The tale of vengeance, blood feud, lost love and greed stars also Eva Green, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mikael Persbrandt, Eric Cantona and Jonathan Pryce. Anders Thomas Jensen wrote the screenplay. The deal was negotiated by Head of Sales Susan Wendt on behalf of TrustNordisk. Watch the trailer above.

Digital entertainment company Believe Entertainment Group has signed an investment deal with ITV plc, the leading UK-baseditv logo television and broadcast company that is now the largest independent producer of unscripted content in the U.S. ITV will contribute its own U.S. production expertise, international distribution and talent relationships to enhance Believe Entertainment Group’s existing projects and maximize its own longform television formats. Believe’s shortform content including Xbox animated series The LeBrons; In The Booth, a YouTube series with DJ-producer Tiësto; Money Where Your Mouth Is, a Hulu game show series hosted by Jay Mohr; and Inspired By Sabrina, a women’s lifestyle show hosted by HGTV’s Sabrina Soto on AOL.

Michael Horn has joined Sony Pictures Releasing International as SVP, supervising the Latin America region. Starting October 1, he will oversee Latin American distribution operations for the studio, which will also include overseeing local production activity in the region. Horn has served as VP and Managing Director of Paramount Pictures Mexico since 2007. Prior to that, he was Managing Director for United International Pictures in both Chile and Mexico from 1997-2007, handling the combined film slates from Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Dreamworks SKG, Focus Features and Paramount Classics. He will report to Steven O’Dell, President of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
