Casey Deidrick (Days Of Our Lives), John Garet Stoker and Kiersey Clemons (Austin & Ally) are set to co-star opposite Victoria Justice in MTV’s thriller drama series Eye Candy, from top genre feature producer Jason Blum. The project was picked up to series in February with a 10-episode order. It was to undergo changes, including extensive recasting, with only Justice and Harvey Guillen staying on from the pilot cast.
Written by Emmy Grinwis, Eye Candy stars Justice as tech genius Lindy who begins to suspect that one of her online suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the cyber-police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, she works with the hackers to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice.
Deidrick, repped by UTA, Leverage Management and David Krintzman, plays male lead Tommy, a dry-witted NY native who descends from a long line of cops and works as a detective in the NYPD Cyber Unit. He is skeptical of Lindy’s tactics and motivations, but he ultimately decides to work with her. The role was played by Nico Tortella in the original pilot.
Clemons, repped by Progressive, Mach 1 Management and Starr Andreeff at MJMG, will play a new character, Sophia, Lindy’s hip, gorgeous, sophisticated, and vibrant best friend and roommate. Stoker, repped by CESD and Berwick & Kovacik Management, also will play a new character, Connor, Sophia’s other best friend – a young blogger on a Gawker-esque website who will post about our serial killer.
