Apple CEO Tim Cook didn’t tip his hand about the company’s plans for television in the first segment, airing tonight, of a two-part interview on PBS’ Charlie Rose. But Cook says it’s “an area that we continue to look at,” with Apple TV having “far exceeded the ‘hobby’ label we put on it.” For most people, the living-room viewing experience is “stuck back in the ’70s. … The interface is terrible, and you watch things when they come on unless you remember to record them.”
