Walt Martin, who collaborated with director Clint Eastwood on 14 films, including the upcoming American Sniper and Jersey Boys died at 69 on July 24.  Martin died from vasculitis at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA. Martin received a 2007 Oscar nomination for his work on Eastwood’s World War II drama Flags of Our Fathers. Martin worked on such Eastwood titles as True Crime, Space Cowboys, Blood Work, Mystic River and Oscar best picture winner Million Dollar Baby. In addition to working on such films as And The Band Played On, Charlie’s Angels, and John Huston’s The Dead, Martin also sound mixed on such TV series as The Closer, Sons of Anarchy and the Mad Men season 7 finale episode “Waterloo”.
