Powerhouse nonprofit Playwrights Horizons, one of the country’s most potent incubators of new plays and musicals, has named Kyle Sircus as new Director of Marketing, beginning September 22. He replaces longtime m.d. Eric Winick, who left last month after 15 years to become the Chief Marketing Officer of JCC Manhattan. Sircus is currently marketing manager at California’s Berkeley Repertory Theatre. He’ll head up Playwrights’ seven-person Marketing Department.

Kyle’s leadership ability and his skill in all areas of marketing will help us develop and execute new marketing strategies and strengthen our reputation in New York and beyond.”
In a statement, Playwrights points out that Sirkus isn’t the only good news from the West Coast: Last week Los Angeles Times theater critic Charles McNulty wrote that artistic director Tim Sanford “has made Playwrights Horizons the most exciting place in the country for new playwriting not waiting to be picked up by Broadway producers.”
