Olafur Darri Olafsson has been cast as Ethan Allen in AMC’s half-hour comedy pilot We Hate Paul Revere. Written, executive produced by and starring Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner, the story revolves around two brothers living in Colonial Boston who are not fans of local industrialist and activist Paul Revere (Ron Livingston). Troy Miller is also exec producer via Dakota Pictures. Olafsson, repped by APA and Conway Van Gelder, recently was cast opposite Vin Diesel, Michael Caine and Rose Leslie in Lionsgate’s The Last Witch and recently wrapped a recurring role in FX pilot How & Why. He also recurred on Cinemax’s Banshee and appeared in HBO’s True Detective. Feature credits include A Walk Among The Tombstones, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and The Deep.
Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (House Of Saddam, House Of Sand And Fog) and Steven Strait (Magic City) have joined the cast of Syfy’s The Expanse, a series based on James S.A. Corey’s series of novels. A thriller set 200 years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Aghdashloo, repped by Tamara Houston of Round Table Entertainment, will play Chrisjen Avasarala, a smart and passionate member of a political family legacy who has risen high in the ranks of Earth’s governing body without once standing for election. Strait, repped by Chris Huvane and Lainie Sorkin Becky at Management 360, plays Holden, an officer on the ice-carrying freighter the Canterbury. Holden is a natural leader who’s not sure he wants responsibility but soon will have no choice when he is drawn into a dangerous plot.
