FX has put in development a single-camera comedy project from actress Lucy Punch, frequent Sacha Baron Cohen collaborator Ant Hines and popular Danish comedian Casper Christensen. The trio will write and executive produce the single-camera comedy, with England-born Punch set to star. The untitled project follows a desperate English expat (Punch) who marries a death row convict so she can get a green card and stay in the States to pursue her dreams. Thinking that her terrifying, besotted husband soon will be out of the picture, Lucy's world is turned upside down when he shows up on her doorstep, having been reprieved just minutes before his scheduled execution.

Hines has worked with Baron Cohen on Da Ali G Show, Borat, Bruno and The Dictator. Christensen probably is best known to international audiences for co-writing and co-starring alongside Frank Hvam in the R-rated Danish comedy Klown, which got the attention of Baron Cohen. The two were tapped to write Baron Cohen's next feature The Lesbian, whose original treatment was co-written by Baron Cohen and Hines. Hines and Christensen collaborated on the film, which is in active development at Paramount. Hines, repped by ICM Partners and Hirsch Wallerstein, is in production on Grimsby for Columbia Pictures. Punch, who co-starred on Fox's Ben & Kate, is with CAA, the Schiff Co. and U.K.'s United Agents.
