Courtney B. Vance and James Remar have booked guest roles on NBC’s fall drama series State Of Affairs. Directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by Universal TV, State Of Affairs stars Katherine Heigl as a key CIA attaché who counsels President Constance Payton (Alfre Woodard) on high-stakes incidents around the world. Vance will recur as First Gentleman Marshall Payton, a Stanford Law grad working as a pro bono counsel for advocacy groups and husband of the president. Remar plays Syd, a former CIA agent who now runs a “clandestine service.” His assistance is often requested by Charleston Tucker (Heigl), who Syd feels an obligation to help due to his loyalty to her grandfather. Vance, repped by Gersh, Lighthouse Entertainment and Fox Rochschild, recently appeared on Masters Of Sex, Revenge and The Closer and next appears in Terminator: Genisys. Remar, repped by Gersh and Lighthouse, was a regular on Dexter and also has worked on Grey’s Anatomy and Wilfred. He next appears in the features Eden and Papa.
Jennifer Hasty has joined the cast of ABC’s fall comedy Selfie. Written by Emily Kapnek and directed by Julie Anne Robinson, Selfie centers on Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan), a self-obsessed twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. Hasty will recur as Joan, Eliza’s punishing co-worker at the children’s pharmaceutical company whom Eliza tries to be friends with. Hasty, repped by House of Representatives and Billy Miller Management, appeared in True Blood, Bunheads and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager and will next be seen in feature Of Gods And Kings.
