One week after The Bachelorette found love at the end of its 10th season, there was more reality romance on ABC last night with the premiere of Bachelor In Paradise (1.3/4). With bikinis, wedge heels, a cocktail party, date cards and of course elimination, the 2-hour debut saw also rans from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette frolicking in Mexico in their latest search for love and fame. In terms of looking for ratings, ABC didn’t exactly score with the new show. Bachelor In Paradise was down 13% among Adults 18-49 from the 1.5/4 that the other The Bachelor and The Bachelorette spin-off Bachelor Pad received with its July 23, 2012 debut. With that in mind, there were also some tears for lead-out Mistresses (0.9/3). The sultry drama stumbled 10% with its last original on July 21 to tie a series low in preliminary ratings

It was Gordon Ramsay night on Fox again with MasterChef (2.0/7) and Hotel Hell (1.4/5) on Monday. The highest-rated show of the night, MC was even with last week while HH took a 7% dip. All of which meant that Gordon delivered for Fox last night as the network tied NBC to top the night with a 1.7/6 rating. With a night of almost all encores, CBS was the most watched network of Monday with 5.15 million viewers.

UNDER THE DOME AUG 4As has been true most Mondays this summer, Under The Dome (1.6/5) was the only original on CBS. After two even weeks, the trapped town sci-fi drama from Steven Spielberg and Stephen King bopped up 7% from the series low of its July 28 show. UTD had a little bit more good news too on Monday. With an audience of 6.76 million, the 10 PM series was the most watched show on TV last night.

Bachelor in Paradise is a train-wreck of the highest order. One big crazy social experiment that never...

In the second week of its second season, NBC’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls (1.3/5) certainly kept pace. With a slight 7% slip, the reality show held on to an undeniably strong 93% of its debut demo last week. Lead-out American Ninja Warrior (1.9/2) was also steady. That 2-hour reality show saw a 5% dip from the double-digit rise its July 28 show had. A little bit of trivia, NBC reports that ANW’s result last night matched its second-best rating in the last 2 years. That’s even with the July 23, 2012 season finale and just behind last week’s 2.0, which was the 2-year high.

On the CW, the 8 PM Whose Line Is It Anyway (0.6/2) was even with last week’s result. WLIIA was the only original on the CW last night.
