Following pilot Old Soul last season, NBC again is exploring the comedy in the relationship between generations with Assisted Loving, from How To Live With Your Parents and Accidentally On Purpose creator Claudia Lonow and producers Aaron Kaplan and Tracy Katsky. The project represents Lonow's semi-autobiographical take on Rob Morris' book Assisted Loving, about dating alongside his 80-year-old father. The NBC comedy will center on two half-siblings taking care of their dad. Kaplan's Kapital Entertanment and Universal TV are producing, with Lonow, Kaplan and Katsky executive producing. The project stems from the pod deal Katsky inked with Kapital in May.
In addition to Assisted Loving, Lonow is attached as executive producer/showrunner to another NBC/Uni TV comedy project Big Kids, from Joe Wengert and Ed Helms. She is with WME and Del, Shaw, Moonves. Kapital has a put pilot commitment at Fox for a sibling rivalry comedy from Friends With Better Lives creator Dana Klein.
