EXCLUSIVE: Big Love‘s Douglas Smith, who appeared last year in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, has set two features ahead of his fall starring turn in Universal, Blumhouse Productions, and Platinum Dunes’ horror pic Ouija. He’s booked a role in Paramount’s Terminator reboot, although character details are under wraps. The Alan Taylor-helmed pic is now filming in New Orleans with Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his iconic Terminator role.
Smith will also star in indie Evan’s Crime in the title role of Evan White, a college kids who lands a seven-year prison sentence after a minor drug bust, which in turn leads him down a path of vengeance against the power-hungry prosecutor who put him behind bars. Script is by Sandy Tung (Saving Shiloh), who is also directing. Smith was seen earlier this year in the horror-musical Stage Fright and had a role in Brandon Cronenberg’s body horror debut Antiviral. He’s repped by Paradigm, More/Medavoy Management, Morris, Yorn, Barnes, Levine, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner & Gellman.
After wrapping the third season of A&E’s Longmire, Bailey Chase (Saving Grace, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is heading to New York this month to film indie drama Kill For Me. He’ll star as Charlie Sundstrom, a newly released ex-con who must navigate the criminal underworld to save his son, unaware he’s being set up to pay for his crimes all over again. Tim McCann is directing from a script by Raymond Kwok. McCann and Kwok are producing with Ben Bickham while Linda Moran and Rene Bastian are exec producers. Chase plays Deputy Branch Connally on Longmire and will appear in the upcoming drama Sex, Death, and Bowling with Selma Blair. He’s repped by Untitled Entertainment and The Gersh Agency.
