Under the multi-year overall production deal, High School Musical alumna Ashley Tisdale and her sister Jennifer, Blondie Girl Prods‘ VP Development and Production, will create and develop scripted and unscripted content for Asylum Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Asylum president and CEO Steve Michaels.
“We are excited to work with Ashley and Jennifer to develop television that appeals to a broader, pop culture-savvy audience,” he said. “Connecting Asylum and the Blondie Girl team is a great example of the diverse development deals we are striving to create now that we are working with Legendary.”
Legendary acquired Asylum Entertainment in a deal announced in December 2013. Asylum produces unscripted programming primarily for basic cable including ESPN’s docu-series 30 For 30, Emmy-winning miniseries The Kennedys and reality show Beverly Hills Pawn.
Blondie Girl Prods currently produces the new ABC Family show Young & Hungry and the Disney Channel original movie Cloud 9. Other productions include the Bravo reality series Miss Advised and E!’s Inner Circle.
