Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance leaped 31% in the demo last night compared to last week, and tapped off with the top spot (1.7/6), also taking teens, and adults 18-34. It was Dance’s fourth broadcast of this summer, and its highest rated too.

CBS’ lineup of procedural crime drama reruns bagged the biggest overall crowd – 5.5 million viewers, edging out Dance’s 5.27 mil, though Dance also rose 20% compared to last week. CBS was locked in a virtual three-way tie for second place in the demo – with a 1.0/3 to NBC’s 1.0/3 and ABC’s 1.0/4. ABC wound up third (4.206) with comedy reruns and Canadian cop drama Motive; NBC (3.897 million) followed, when back-to-back Law & Order: SVU repeats (1.1/4 and 1.2/4; 4.259 million and 4.471 million)  were competitive from 8-10 PM, but a rerun episode of Chicago PD (0.8/2, 2.96 million) was less so.

ABC’s second-season cop drama Motive at 10 PM climbed 25% week to week in the demo to tie CBS’ CSI repeat in the hour. For its third consecutive telecast, Motive improved its hour, year to year,  in total viewers (31% – 4.7 million vs. 3.6 million)
