Anna Kendrick has landed the lead voice role in Trolls, director Mike Mitchell’s musical comedy for DreamWorks Animation. She will play Poppy, a relentlessly upbeat princess, in the film based on the toy doll series. Kendrick’s recent credits include Drinking Buddies, Pitch Perfect and ParaNorman. She has several upcoming projects including The Last Five Years, Into The Woods, Mr. Right and Pitch Perfect 2. The actress is repped by CAA.
David Harewood has booked a role in the Weinstein Company drama Tulip Fever for director Justin Chadwick. He will play Prater, Amsterdam’s foremost tulip grower/dealer, in the film about a 17th century Dutch woman who begins an affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Harewood’s credits include TV’s Homeland and Robin Hood, and upcoming roles include ABC’s Selfie, HBO’s The Money and features Free In Deed and Grimbsy.
