Former Warner Independent Pictures marketing chief Laura Kim has been named SVP Film Marketing at Participant Media, where she will oversee marketing strategy, partnerships, and campaign development for Participant’s films and acquisitions and serve as the key marketing executive for all distributors, promotional partners, filmmakers, talent and studios. She will report to EVP Documentary Films Diane Weyerman and EVP Narrative Films Jonathan King. While at WIP, Kim oversaw marketing of movies including Before Sunset, March Of The Penguins, Paradise Now and the Participant title Good Night, And Good Luck. Most recently shw was principal and founder at Inside Job, a motion picture marketing, public relations and distribution consulting firm. Her campaigns there included for Albert Nobbs, Margin Call, Restrepo, Winter’s Bone and Oscar winner Undefeated.
Participant, in its 10th year, just landed a Cannes Special Screening slot for its Gabriel Garcia Bernal pic El Ardor, which is world premiering there out of competition.
