Former Exclusive Media heads Nigel Sinclair and Guy East (Rush, End Of Watch, The Woman In Black) are revving up their first project at new shingle White Horse Pictures. Documentary A Faster Horse tracks the history and legacy of America’s most iconic car, the Ford Mustang, which turns 50 this year and has sold over nine million cars to date. Sinclair and East have tapped Jiro Dreams Of Sushi helmer David Gelb to direct and are producing the film with the cooperation of The Ford Motor Company. It’s the first time Ford’s famed “pony car” has gotten the feature documentary treatment and will include personal stories from Mustang lovers all over the world, automotive historians, current Mustang designers, and the individuals who built the Mustang legend over the years. The filmmakers will also have access to plans for Ford’s upcoming sixth-gen 2015 design hitting streets this Fall. “Ford has generously allowed our team full access to a wealth of archive materials, and unparalleled permission to document the design and creation of the 2015 Mustang,” said Gelb.
Glen Zipper, producer of the Oscar-winning documentary Undefeated, is producing with Sinclair. Nicholas Ferrall is overseeing for White Horse Pictures and will exec produce alongside East. Meanwhile, Gelb is in post on his narrative debut Lazarus, a Blumhouse Productions horror-thriller starring Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass which Lionsgate will release in January.
