  1. TMZ and outstanding ? Really? That show is so snarky and condescending. Television Academy- bad move.

    1. Agreed. Why would any award show recognize the very low rent TMZ ? They are disgusting on every level . Scary !

  2. Hate To Say So, But The Major GH snubs were deserved. The show has gotten too campy and the relish storyline did no one any favors and I do mean no one.

  3. Wow, congats to OLTL! As far as I know, isn’t this the first time a non-major network produced show is up for best drama series?

    1. No. Star Trek: The Next Generation was up for best drama years ago. And that was for a real Emmy, not a daytime one.

It’s hard to take these awards seriously when they nominate stuff like TMZ, and four of the six daytime drama series on the air are nominated. What a joke.

  4. Can someone explain to me how OLTL online, a shadow of its former self, beat GH whose story lines, characters and ratings have significantly improved since Ron and Frank have taken over???

    1. Because as quickly as they saved it, their sinking it yet again. The OLTL reboot may not have been perfect, but given the situation, it was mighty impressive.

    2. GH has improved? Did you actually type that without throwing up in your mouth? GH is a disaster. Unbelievable and chaotic storylines, character assasination, camp, scenery chewing (I’m looking at you Maura West), putting the whole show in turmoil over three bad actors and poor characters (Howarth, Alderson, Easton). GH is just really bad. It’s a miracle that it got any nominations with the drivel it is pumping out.

If ABC intends to keep GH on air, it needs to salvage it from its current show runners.

      1. GH has actually went up in the ratings after Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini became the showrunners two years ago, and they were both nominated for best writing and best drama series respectively last year!

        1. The rating are up because of the anniversary and the influx of GH vets (even though they were poorly utilized) like AJ, Anna, Robert, Robin, Lucy, Kevin, Felicia, Bobbie, etc. They will go down again.

  5. SAMI FROM DAYS SHOULD GET SOME TYPE OF AWARD SHE STARTED AT DAYS WHEN SHE WAS 16 YS OLD . SHE WILL BE MISSED.

    1. Alison Sweeney is a terrible actor, as are many of her colleagues. This is why the Daytime Emmys are such a joke.

    2. Alison Sweeney’s performance as Sami is all over the place with no depth . Their is a reason why she didn’t win an Emmy .

  6. Wow, the daytime Emmy’s must have some kind of death grudge against My Little Pony, not only do they not nominate it for anything, they nominate pretty much everything else on The Hub, even the crappiest shows like Beast Hunters

  7. Four out of the five leading Actor nominations all for the same soap!
Hilarious how the herd has thinned to the point of making choices based on a total of four soaps!

  8. I can’t believe GH got snubbed like this. Wow…I won’t be watching the broadcast that’s for sure.

  9. YEAH! Y & R is leading the pack. And so they should. Excellent characters. Excellent actors. Well done, Y&R!

    1. Couldn’t agree more. Guess Y&R should forget about this whole Michael Muhney firing fiasco.

  10. GH getting left off most lists for best actor listings and outstanding series is well deserved. Also if you look the GH writing team was left off there nomination. ABC needs to really look at how bad this team is making GH acterrible show with story lines that are not even plasaible

    1. Pete

You are absolutely right. The lack of significant nominations with so few shows in play is very telling. ABC needs to wake up and take notice. Next year, there will be no OLTL or AMC for competition and it still won’t fare well. How the show handled AJ is very indicative of how they have handled the show overall.

  11. What! Yeah how is an online soap beat out GH. Then they should have never taken it off in the first place. But you have to
consider those people in charge. Y’all say black people don’t know what they doing, This whole award show is going to be a mess.

  12. Perhaps, GHOST absence in the Best Drama category this year will finally take notice and return to its roots, and drop the mob crime story line that it’s had for ten years, enough, apparently the Academy is tired of it, the stunt driven, action that has gotten them previous accolades, Emmys, and the much maligned reboot of OLTL, doesn’t stand a chance of an Emmy win, that would be a slap in the face to Disney/ABC…..it was a complete mess, except for last episode, with the great acting of former CBS star Ron Raines……he deserved an Emmy for just showing up.

  13. It will be humiliating if The Price is Right wins Outstanding Game Show again like it was last year. Mike Richards is the most overrated producer I have ever seen in my entire life and Drew Carey continues to be a poor man’s Bob Barker. When oh when will TV’s longest running game show ever going to end?

    1. Snarky and condescending? Well, that pretty much describes every executive producer I’ve had the displeasure of working with. That’s TV.

      1. ⬆⬆⬆⬆ the above comment should have been posted as a reply to the first comment. Not here.

    2. @tran

You are right. Wtf? Then a game show, like W of F never wins anything. Weird. Well, at least Cash Cab is history. I can’t believe that cheap-ass embarrassment ever won anything! Rotflmao

      1. I really hope The Price is Right needs to end in the next few years give or take and how long Drew Carey will continue to host the show because of his freaking contract. There’s a reason why Drew still has no Daytime Emmy love when he took over for Bob Barker back in 2007 and season after season after season, he’s been the biggest problem to everybody not even the whole crew, the models and George Gray the announcer. People needs to “give up” watching Price is Right if ratings plummet in a matter of months and if Mr. Carey screw things up like that, CBS Daytime will have explaining to do and turned it into a “conspiracy”. Price is Right is not funny when Drew is around and he better not wasting his time with everybody.

    3. BTW, about the people who watches Price is Right or never saw it during the weekdays, here’s why. If they never watched Price is Right and for some dumb reason that if they go to Los Angeles to become a contestant on the show and hopefully someday to COME ON DOWN and play, the blame is on everybody and if they never saw a pricing game except Plinko, the blame is on them as well. Another example to them: don’t try to look at the crowd for help because sometimes they’re either with you or against you and the most important thing of all is that you must go with your gut instinct whether a contestant is right or wrong. Guess Price is Right doesn’t care about the continuing struggles of the economy not about to pay taxes on prizes like a brand new car.

  14. I just want to say I have been watching Days for 50 years and to not have EJ or Sami Nominated for best actor or actress is a crock of s–t. I am very dissapointed in whom ever your staff or voting people are.

  15. I can’t believe that Wheel of Fortune doesn’t sweep the Emmy’s. Their sets are beautiful, it’s shot like a ‘primetime’ show (not like some cheesy daytime gameshow), Pat and Vanna have incredible chemistry, and it’s one of the most entertaining game shows on television.

I did see that the Lighting Designer was nominated. I hope he wins. It’s THE best looking games how on TV.
