EXCLUSIVE: On the heels of drama pilot Constantine getting picked up to series by NBC, the project’s executive producer David S. Goyer has signed a first-look deal with NBC sister studio Universal TV. Goyer will continue as an executive producer alongside writer/executive producer Daniel Cerone on DC Comic-based Constantine, which is produced by Warner Bros TV, while developing new projects for Uni TV. “David Goyer is a wildly imaginative writer with a distinct voice,” said Uni TV EVP Bela Bajaria. “Whether the setting is world-building or grounded, he creates memorable characters.”
Goyer is the creator, director and executive producer of Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons, which just received a third-season renewal, with John Shiban joining as showrunner. Goyer also was the creator, director and executive producer of ABC’s supernatural drama FlashForward. On the film side, Goyer recently signed on to write the treatment for the remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic Fantastic Voyage for James Cameron. Goyer, repped by WME and Bloom Hergott, also co-wrote Warner Bros’ Man Of Steel and its upcoming sequel Batman Vs. Superman. His next directing effort will be The Breach for Lionsgate, which was developed independently under his Phantom 4 Films banner along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
