“I’ve spent my life making people famous,” Shep Gordon says matter-of-factly in this documentary about the music manager who went on to create the concept of the celebrity chef and become a confidant of the Dalai Lama. There’s a lot of laughing and smiling going on in the trailer for Supermensch: The Legend Of Shep Gordon, Mike Myers‘ love letter to the man and his legion of superfriends: Michael Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Willie Nelson, Alice Cooper, Emeril Lagasse and on and on. It also tells the story of a humble man who did everything to make other people’s dream come true while putting his own life on the back burner. Radius-TWC, which acquired the film shortly after its Toronto premiere last year, will open it June 6. Have a look, dig the Teddy Pendergrass “women-only” concert snippet, and try not to grin a bit:
