Ukraine, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370,fox-news-logo and the Obamacare deadline catapulted Fox News Channel to No 1 among cable networks in primetime last week, with an average of 2.049 million viewers. FNC edged past USA  (1.907 million), History (1.898 million), AMC (1.796 million), TBS (1.73 million), TNT (1.613), and ESPN (1.334 million). CNN finished the week 22nd among cable networks with 800,000 primetime viewers of all ages, and MSNBC ranked No. 27 with 666,000 primetime viewers. In total day, FNC ranked No. 3 with viewers 2+, CNN ranked No. 37 and MSNBC ranked No. 28.

The last time FNC finished first in the cable universe in primetime with total viewers was the week of Obama’s most recent State of the Union Address in January. Before that, FNC last topped the cable Total-Viewer Rankers the week of the Boston Marathon bombing in April of ’13. FNC’s most watched program of the week was the Tuesday edition of The O’Reilly Factor with its average of 2.959 million viewers. It ranked No. 29 among cable programs for the week —  no match for AMC’s The Walking Dead (12.865 million viewers) and Talking Dead (5.415 million viewers) which topped the Total Viewer chart. O’Reilly had four editions of his show land in the Top 50 and FNC’s Megyn Kelly landed No. 1 telecast in that list, which is believed to be her first.

CNN finished the week at No. 22 in primetime among cable nets, with 800,000 viewers of all ages;  MSNBC ranked No. 27 with 666,000 primetime viewers.

In the news demo, viewers 25-54 who are of most interest to advertisers, FNC ranked No. 22 in primetime and No. 16 in total day; CNN ranked No. 24 and No. 26, respectively, and MSNBC No. 35 and No. 34. AMC was No. 1 in the demo in primetime with an average of 940,000 viewers, while Adult Swim led in the age bracket for total day with an average of 476,000 demo viewers.
