Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak Attends Press ConferenceFox News Channel and CNN were locked in a deathmatch for news demo viewers last night. FNC reclaimed the lead in primetime, though with slimmer leads than it enjoyed before Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went missing nearly two weeks ago. For instance, CNN’s Bill Weir, filling in for Piers Morgan at 9 PM, clocked 351,000 demo viewers to 354,000 for FNC’s Megyn Kelly. CNN’s Don Lemon at 10 PM clocked 324,000 demo viewers to Sean Hannity‘s 336,000 on FNC. FNC’s Bill O’Reilly enjoyed a second night besting Anderson Cooper after Cooper’s three-day pop in the age bracket, with 404,000 demo viewers and 366,000, respectively. Ironically, O’Reilly’s telecast included a segment about the missing Malaysian Airliner, if only to decry the media’s mania with the story. At 11 PM, when Cooper and O’Reilly’s shows were repeated, Cooper edged out O’Reilly 348,000 to 339,000. CNN also topped FNC at 2 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM and 7 PM.

CNN will not telecast Death Row Stories tonight, and if you guessed it will run yet another Lemon-hosted Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 special, you win. But the third episode of Chicagoland is still on CNN’s schedule for tomorrow — expect CNN’s numbers to take a tumble there.
