The Super Bowl on Fox may have posted the biggest TV audience ever with 111.5 million, but no halo effect on Fox so far. A day after The Following scored a plum promo spots during the big game, the serial killer drama slipped to a new low. Following logged a 1.9 in adults 18-49 last night, down a tenth from last week’s series low of 2.0. The serialized drama had a stronger lead-in than last week, a new Almost Human (1.8), which too was down (-10%) from its last original on January 13.
There were little changes on the other networks. CBS’ How I Met Your Mother (3.3) was down 13% from last Monday’s big 200th episode but still topped the night in 18-49. 2 Broke Girls (3.0) and Mike & Molly (2.6) were flat, while Mom (2.3) was down a tenth. New drama Intelligence has stabilized, posting a 1.5 for a second straight week. It didn’t take advantage of the absence of NBC’s The Blacklist in the hour. ABC’s Castle (2.1) did, rising a tenth from its last original 2 weeks ago when it faced Blacklist. Encouraging news for The Bachelor (2.6, +5%), which rose for a second consecutive Monday to post its best 18-49 since the premiere — an indication that star Juan Pablo Galavis’ controversial comments on gays have not had a lasting impact. ABC tied CBS for No. 1 in 18-49 (2.4), and in the fast nationals, ABC edged CBS in total viewers (8.799 million vs. 8.773 million). NBC aired Hollywood Game Night (1.5), which was on par with last week, and a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit special (0.9). On the CW, (0.4) and (0.3) were both flat.
