  1. Good for Bette Midler!

However, I don’t think that Barbra Streisand was ever “coaxed” to perform on the Oscars. I believe that in her heart she wanted to pay tribute to Marvin Hamlish and called the producers…. With all due respect, Barbra calls the shots as everyone knows. BTW Barbra needs to make a good movie before it is too late… Her career needs a glorious bookend. So does Bette for that matter…

  2. No you got it wrong. It’s for the 1st anniversary of the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking, award winning musical “Chicago”!!!!!!!!!!! I put ellen exclamation marks because of the 11 years it’s been since that Florida film won best picture.

  3. Hey Bette,
how about “Finally” from PRISCILLA – QUEEN OF THE DESERT ?!
Would surely become a hugh happening , seeing u perform this song.
Come on Girl, …the world´s ready for this !!!
sending kind regards from Frankfurt/Main in Germany.

  4. Hi, I´d love Bette to sing “beast of burden” or “the rose” – 2 of my all time favourites!!! I´m a real great fan and so much looking forward on watching “ruthless people” on tv tomorrow night !!! All the best and greets from Germany !, Jutta called Jule

  5. Such a all around talent. She could sing song’s from the movie that she stared in with James Cann outstanding

  6. Good for the Oscars for asking Miss Midler to sing !!!!! She is a true performer and can sing anything. I hope she surprises us and sing something new ! No one needs to sing to the memory of a heroin addict though ……

  7. Wind Beneath My Wings… This song touches beyond Hollywood! As a woman, I’m going to have my ovaries removed to prevent cancer because of recurring cysts. Over 50…don’t know what they’ll find. I have a male friend in the 3rd round of cancer treatment for a brain tumor… He was healthy last year. Friends need friends. We never know what’s to come in life. That song inspires!

  8. I love everything you sing , The Rose, Wind Beneath My Wings… But I would love to see you sing Hello In There.. That song is just Beautiful!!!!

  9. I usually don’t watch the Oscars but with Bette Midler performing I will. It really doesn’t matter what she sings it will be great.

    1. Definitely Wind Beneath my Wings! So touching but at the same time energizing to do better in life, live a meaningful life. I’m Eika’s cousin in Honolulu. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit here.
