Krysten Ritter, who toplined NBC’s comedy pilot Assistance last season, is back as the star of another NBC/Universal TV half-hour pilot. Ritter is finalizing a deal for Mission Control, from executive producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell and writer David Hornsby. Ritter also will serve as a producer on the project, a workplace ensemble is set in 1962 that examines what happens when a strong woman (Ritter) butts heads with a macho astronaut in the race to land on the moon. In addition to being pursued for pilots, this season Ritter also developed and sold projects under a first-look deal with Uni TV. Ritter, repped by WME, The Group Entertainment, Sanders Armstrong Caserta and attorney Dave Feldman, recently appeared in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes and will next be seen in the Veronica Mars film, reprising her role from the series.
