Looks like you’ll be seeing Lindsey Vonn at the Olympics after all. NBC said today that the gold medal winning U.S. skier is joining the network to report on the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Headquartered stateside, Vonn will appear leading up to and throughout the Games on both NBC Sports’ coverage and on Today as a correspondent. Last week, NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell revealed that the network had been in talks with Vonn over participating in the coverage that begins February 6. “We have been in discussions,” Bell said of Vonn, who had to drop out of the Games due to a knee injury. The 2010 Vancouver Games gold medalist and pop culture staple is set to appear on Today tomorrow to discuss her role the coverage and her ongoing rehab.
The 2014 Winter Olympics’ Opening Ceremony is set for February 7, but NBC begins its primetime coverage the day before with snowboarding events.
