EXCLUSIVE: Magic City‘s Kelly Lynch and Justified‘s Jim Beaver have signed on to Indie crime pic The Frontier. They join Jocelin Donahue (House of the Devil, Insidious 2), Izabella Miko (Deadwood), Liam Aiken (Electrick Children), Jamie Harris (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) and AJ Bowen (You’re Next) in the ensemble cast. The Frontier is Oren Shai’s feature directorial debut; Webb Wilcoxen and Oren Shai penned the screenplay and Dana Lustig is producing.
Pic is set in 1974 along Route 66 and centers on a desperate woman on the run from the law who takes a job at a remote desert motel. She soon discovers the motel’s patrons are rendezvousing after a large robbery, and deciding she has nothing to lose, hatches a plan to steal their loot. Filming is slated to begin Saturday in Lancaster, CA. Lynch’s credits include Gus Van Sant’s Drugstore Cowboy and Beaver will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak. Bowen stars in Ti West’s The Sacrament set to be released by Magnet on June 6.
