2013 Governors Awards: Angelina Jolie, Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin

The Academy‘s fifth annual Governors Awards kick off tonight at 8 PM at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland, hosted by Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, CEO Dawn Hudson and the Academy’s Board of Governors. Receiving honorary Oscars tonight are three-time Oscar nominee Angela Lansbury, three-time Oscars host Steve Martin, and costume designer Piero Tosi (The Leopard, Death in Venice), a five-time Oscar nominee. (Tosi will not be in attendance.) The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award will be awarded to Angelina Jolie. Paula Wagner is producing tonight’s event.   1. I never would have I though I’d see the day where Angelina Jolie and Angela Lansbury stood side by side??? Who’d have thought that one?

  2. Truly, I respect all of these artists and their contributions to storytelling. Plus, this event is often even more fun than the Oscars because it is not broadcast.

    That being said…I was at the USC/Stanford game. Trust me, tonight…this game is the biggest buzz possible for those attending and most folks in LA. Great game from two great programs…dare I say…an award winning game.

  3. I think is more than fair to give this award to them, specially great Angela Lansbury. She is an inspiration for many, actors and ordinary people, her smile and her grace really mean something in a world obsessed by youth. Good for you dear Angela!!!
