Disney has set pricey plans to open its Frozen early in an exclusive LA engagement, five days before the animated pic opens in wide release. Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, Frozen features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Groff and will run at the El Capitan from November 22 through January 5, 2014. The film opens nationwide in time for Thanksgiving on November 27. Special themed events planned for the exclusive run include ice carving performances and appearances by film characters Anna and Elsa. Select morning screenings will include 8:30 AM pre-movie breakfasts with “Anna” at $38 a pop for kids, $41 for adults, and a whopping $51 per person for VIP access which includes popcorn, soda, and line-jumping privileges. Kodak is sponsoring the El Cap run which will be presented in realD 3D with Dolby Atmos sound. Kid-friendly “Tiny Tot” screenings will also be held weekly at 10 AM on Tuesdays for parents with small children.
