EXCLUSIVE: Eric McCormack is set to star in indie The Architect for Parker Film Company, produced by Metallica’s Lars Ulrich. He’ll play Colin, who with wife Drew (Parker Posey) enlists the visionary modern architect Miles Moss (James Frain) to build their new home. As Drew is swept away by the artist’s sweeping creative vision, neither she nor her practical husband notice he’s building his dream house, not theirs. Catherine di Napoli and Jonathan Parker wrote the pic and Parker will direct. The duo will also produce alongside Ulrich. Filming begins in October in Washington state. Meanwhile, McCormack will return as series star to TNT’s Perception for a third season in 2014. He’s repped by ICM Partners.
Thor actress Jaimie Alexander is joining the cast of London Fields. Billy Bob Thornton, Amber Heard, Jim Sturgess, and Theo James are already cast. The adaptation of Martin Amis’ 1989 novel follows an American writer in London (Thornton) who’s had writer’s block for two decades and is now terminally ill. Alexander will play “Hope.” The black comedy murder-mystery is helmed by Matthew Cullen and adapted by Roberta Hanley and Amis. Filming begins this month in London. Alexander returns to the Marvel fold in sequel Thor 2 this November. She’s repped by Mosaic, WME, and attorney Lev Ginsburg.
House Of Lies‘ Dawn Olivieri has been cast in indie romance To Whom It May Concern, by writer-director Manu Boyer. She’ll play Anna, a woman whose suicide plan is sidetracked when she rescues her charming neighbor (Wilmer Valderrama) after his girlfriend kicks him out of their apartment. Given the chance to live another day, Anna finds herself falling for her unexpected new roommate. Gaetan Rousseau, Marieta Blaskova and Andrew Corkin are producing. Production is underway in Rockaway, Queens. Olivieri’s been busy, recently completing filming on David O’Russell’s American Hustle; hostage pic Supremacy opposite Joe Anderson and Danny Glover; Anthony DiBlasi’s The Missionary; and Catherine Hardwicke’s Plush with Emily Browning and Cam Gigandet. She’s repped by APA, Mosaic, and Bloom Hergott Deimer Rosenthal La Violette.
