With Time Warner Cable viewers once again able to see CBS shows in three of the country’s top 5 TV markets, CBS’ Under The Dome dominated Labor Day Monday among English-language commercial broadcasters, with a slight uptick in the demo. Dome was dealt a 2.6 in the demo — up a tenth week to week — and 6.8 million viewers. NBC’s American Ninja Warrior led that network to a second-place finish with a 1.4 rating – a new high — and 4.3 million viewers. ABC trailed with 1.1 rating and 4.2 million viewers, ahead of Fox’s 0.7 rating and 1.8 million viewers and the CW’s 0.2 rating and 556,000 viewers.
At 8 PM, Ninja dominated in the demo (1.5 rating) and total viewers (5.1 million). It grew at 8:30 PM (1.8 rating, 5.6 million) and 9 PM (1.9, 5.8 million), but dipped at 9:30 PM (1.8, 5.5 million) when CBS put on its strongest comedy repeat of the night, Mike & Molly (1.4 rating, 5.9 million viewers). At 9, ABC’s Mistresses was up 30% compared to previous week in the demo (1.3) to tie CBS’ comedies. At 10, CBS’ Dome took over (2.6 rating, 10.7 million viewers) and was up a tenth compared to last week, with NBC’s Siberia tumbling off its lead-in to a 0.7 rating and 1.9 million viewers. That’s a 17% demo hike for the show compared to last week for Siberia, which tied ABC’s Castle repeat (0.7 rating, 3.8 million viewers). Castle beat Siberia by 25% in the 25-54 demo and was up compared to its year-ago Labor Day repeat by double-digits in viewers and key demos.
