Primetime Emmys 2013: High Mark For Female Comedy Writers, Directors

    1. Because they didn’t win Outstanding Casting this year?? (that’s the only Emmy ‘Girls’ has ever won). Maybe you’re confusing the Emmys with other award shows.

  1. Have not seen “House of Lies” but I understand it is excellent.
Glad “Breaking Bad” won instead of HOL for Best Drama. Have not see that either but, given its subject matter, have no interest in doing so. Glorifying the drug trade, in any way, is a sad excuse for entertainment. Understand it is coming to an end. With any justice, all involved are blown to Hell. The only way for the show to have any moral resolution.

I did not want HOL to win for the same reason I don’t want any show on pay cable to even be nominated — it’s not BROADCAST television. ACE Awards at one time existed for this purpose. That is where shows on HBO, Showtime and Netflix should be honored.

AMC and FX (“American Horror Story”) are, at least, on standard cable tiers. And, as a result, the scripts are relatively clear of profanity and nudity which, in the minds of Academy voters at least, is a sign of quality.

    Sad, sad.
