After seven seasons USA’s Burn Notice can still light a fire. Last night’s season premiere of the spy drama was up double digits in viewers from last year. With 4.319 million watching, the season opener rose 12% over the 3.872 million who watched its Season 6 debut on June 14, 2012. In terms of key demos, the series was pretty steady with last year. Burn Notice got singed slightly with 1.496 million viewers among Adults 18-49 watching last night compared to the 1.542 million who tuned in for the previous season opener. Among Adults 25-54, the series was up slightly. It went to 1.622 million watching from the demo from the 1.588 million among Adults 25-54 who tuned in for the opening of Season 6. USA has said that the 13-episodes of Season 7 will be the final cycle for Burn Notice.
Freshman Graceland also had a sold night on USA. The premiere of the new series from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin pulled in 3.317 million viewers. That’s against Game 1 of the NBA Finals and the fact that the pilot has been available on VOD and online for weeks. That viewership number was basically even to 3.474 the network’s Suits got in the same time period last year. The DEA, FBI and US Customs drama was watched by 1 million viewers among the 18-49 demo and 1.1 million among the 25-43 demo. That better than the 2.6 million viewers the network’s Political Animals got when it debuted on July 15. The short-lived Sigourney Weaver series pulled in 675,000 viewers among Adults 18-49 and 834,000 among Adults 25-54.
