EXCLUSIVE: CAA signed director Michael Noer, and will break the Danish helmer into Hollywood. We’re seeing a lot of that lately, where offshore directors are aligning with major agencies and getting their big shots as Hollywood studios become more and more global minded. Born and raised in Denmark, Noer directed the award-winning thriller Northwest, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and screened in Berlin earlier this year to great acclaim. It won the Critics Prize in Gothenburg. The film is his first solo outing, after he co-directed, wrote and produced a series of short films, documentaries and features. Northwest is now being shopped for domestic distribution. Noer previously won the Nordisk Film Award for R, the debut feature co-written and co-directed with Tobias Lindholm (A Hijacking).
